About three years ago I starting becoming passionate about eating healthy, exercising, hosting, and cooking for others. From a history of not caring much about how or what I ate, and not being able to run more than a few blocks, being healthy was a major transition.
I used to be one of those “skinny fat” people ; I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain a pound, didn’t have to exercise, and never thought about food other than when I was hungry or bored. I was so lucky to not even deal with body image issues. A few years ago, when my metabolism hit a wall, I started gaining weight and realizing that I was not honoring my body with how I was treating it. I started eating healthy, learning about the health and wellness industry, and began exercising. Quickly thereafter, the passion became an obsession and what I loved I quickly despised. I had to learn about fueling my life – not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually. While learning how to hand over my eating disorder to God and finding redemption in it, I learned about what it looked like to fuel my life faithfully.
I believe that we all have a balance of what helps us grow every day and without it, we can fall apart. My anchor is now in Christ, and I am able to enjoy the gifts of life, two of which this blog is about: fitness and food. I live a naturalistic lifestyle; eating paleo at least 80% of the time and Crossfit at WCCF or other HIIT workouts while traveling .
In this blog you will find recipes, work out routines and regimes, my life’s challenging and encouraging moments, and tons of restaurant reviews. I truly am honored and humbled to have you by my side on this journey!
